The taijitu (yin-yang symbol) is an expression of unity and duality. Conveying that paradox two-dimensionally is part of the symbol’s timeless nature. Most frequently associated with Taoism, archaeological discoveries in eastern Europe suggest that the symbol predates Taoism by at least thousands of years. This cross-cultural aspect also contributes to the timeless quality of the taijitu.
